Graduate Analyst III, Internal Audit at The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory agency mandated by Government to monitor and regulate the electricity industry in Nigeria. The Commission is committed to promoting and ensuring efficient market structures and an investor-friendly industry to meet Nigeria's need for safe, adequate, reliable and affordable electricity.

To drive the achievement this mandate, the Commission seeks to recruit qualified professionals for vacant positions in the Office of the Chairman and its 6 specialized Divisions.

NERC is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Analyst III, Internal Audit

Location: Any City, Nigeria

Job Description

• The Analyst Internal Audit will carry out audits in accordance with the Commission's Audit Procedures and as guided by the Head Internal Audit unit.
• The job holder reports to the Head, Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the conduct of pre-payment auditing, cross checking of relevant documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Commission policies and procedures
• Prepares vouchers of financial transactions for compliance with the Commission's policies and applicable laws and regulations
• Prepares necessary reports for the Commission
• Ensures effective filling of data and information pertinent to the activities of the Internal Audit Unit
• Works with external auditors on statutory audit or other audits.

Qualifications and Skills

• A first degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Finance or related discipline
• Relevant professional qualification, preferably ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA, is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience
• Attention to detail
• Adept in the use of the computer, especially Microsoft Office suite
• Analytical and detail conscious
• Knowledge of standard auditing practices, procedures and able to apply them to each assigned project Good inter-personal skills
• Good communication skills
• Disciplined with good work ethic and a high level of integrity.
